Sue Allison Designs
Mystical Magical Landscapes and Heritage sites in watercolour, acrylics and oils

Sue Allison Bio

Sue Allison has co-owned a successful retail business for 36 years. An art gallery, engraving and

custom faming were specialties of the shop.

Being a well known artist in Owen Sound, Ontario Canada, her paintings portray mystical and magical wetlands and notable heritage buildings in the Grey Bruce Counties and other surrounding areas.

Numerous paintings of 4 decades are in private collections locally and internationally.

Sue is an honours graduate from the Ontario College of Art 1971, specializing in Communications and Design with special interest in fine art.

Working for the Ministry of Natural Resources in the 70's as Exhibit Designer began her career working closely with biologists and naturalists which gave her a deep appreciation for the environment. Her career involved graphic design and building exhibit displays to educate people about caring for the environment. Basic skills were developed including operating power tools to designing brochures, outdoor and indoor  interpretive centres, open houses, fall fair exhibits, to name a few.

Sue began watercolour painting in 1978 developing her distinctive signature techniques which are recognizable if one knows her paintings.

As well, she paints in oils and acrylics, capturing traditional interpretations of landscape throughout Ontario and other places travelled. In the fall of 2021 Sue went in a new direction with her acrylic painting, creating a series of small works "CARBON"  pertaining to carbon emissions leading to global warming. This series will be seen world wide with hopes her message will get out..

Annually Sue spends quality time north of Manitoulin Island in Group of Seven Country painting mainly in oils. The lure of the north is so inspiring with all its natural beauty.

Sue teaches watercolours, drawing, other mediums and basic sketching techniques.
